    the bearded trevor's Christmas list.....

Christmas shopping is simple for me this year. My Amazon Wish List has over 200 items on it. If you buy something off the list, it will be removed so people cannot double up. I have it set so it does not notify me when someone buys from it. I would just have to figure it out (from it being missing from the list). Amazon has added the capability of adding non-Amazon items to the wish list. I have only a couple items from other sites so far.

The button is a permanent addition to my blog. Just click on it above.

the bearded trevor's Exhilaration of the Sudden Drop in Gas Prices.....

Since gas dropped below $2.00 per gallon a few weeks back, I have been chronicling the drop in gas prices with the camera on my cell phone. The recent drop in gas prices has been very welcome since I drive a '95 Ford F-350 with a beastly 486 under the hood. Al Gore and most of the actors in Hollywood would be appalled. That makes me happy. Between my wife and I, it is estimated that we are spending $150-$200 less per month in gas. Oil is $53.04 per barrel as of today. It is being said it could go as low as $40. I know the price will eventually go back up. Enjoy it while you can.

We now have gas for $1.75. I will snap that shot off in the next few days, then I will post it.

    Bam..........

This is what two fingers nailed together looks like. My friend Clint and I was doing some work together today and he had a little accident. That is a 16 penny framing nail going completely through his pointer and middle finger. It did puncture his ring finger, but just barely. He was starting to pull it out when I suggested we take a picture. I put a brad nail through a finger a little while back and did not think of taking a picture until after I pulled it out. We got this one and now we can entertain you with it. It was cold today, so he had gloves on. It would have been a better picture if he did not have them on. After we snapped the shot he pulled it out. When the bleeding stopped, we band aided it and went back to work. That's how we roll.

the bearded trevor's Hall of Shame of baby faced old school church leaders

As promised, I have "the bearded trevor's Hall of Shame of baby faced old school church leaders." I do respect and admire these men and many of the things they did to further the Christian faith. But, they needed some facial hair pretty bad.

the bearded trevor's Hall of Fame of bearded old school church leaders....

I have a big interest in the Reformation era through the period of the Great Awaking. As I have read and studied I have come to appreciate the bearded styles of many of the church leaders in these eras. I will of course follow this post up with the baby faced guys from this era with "the bearded trevor's Hall of Shame of baby faced old school church leaders." Enjoy!

I know that Augustine of Hippo is not from the time eras stated, but he is kind of in a world of his own in the 300 and 400's A.D.

    How Lazy Are We?..........

Wal-Mart does seem to be inevitable. My wife and I try to keep are trips to the temple of "cheap plastic crap" at certain times of the week/day. Avoid the weekends in every possible way. Even the evenings during the week can be hectic. The target time is later at night during the week and, more and more these days we come with a list. A list is the budget saver. It is so easy to get a small thing here and there. Before you know it you have spent your gas money too (which thankfully is a lot less right now, $1.95 per gallon presently). Since we come at night we see the aftermath of a day of shoppers. The parking lot is littered with shopping carts. Wal-Mart provides convenient cart return racks evenly spaced throughout the parking lot. It is amazing how many people do not take advantage of these racks to put there cart back when they are done loading all there stuff. Furthermore, it is amazing that people are so lazy that they just leave the cart wherever they parked. You do have the half attempts by some people. They get the cart to the rack, but do not push it into a slot. They probably reassure themselves that they are not lazy because at least the cart is touching the rack even though it is on the opposite side of the opening. Unfortunately, Americans have gotten lazy even in the petty. Push your cart to the rack. I am sure you need the extra walking anyways.

If a man is lazy, the rafters sag; if his hands are idle, the house leaks. -Ecclesiastes 10:18

We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. -Hebrews 6:12
